Enjoy 11 Cute and Easy Snowman Crafts With Preschoolers

Cute and easy snowman crafts are excellent activities for preschoolers to enjoy during wintertime. These crafts can help preschoolers appreciate the winter season and aid in developing fine motor skills, following directions, and expressing creativity.

Here are some cute and easy snowman craft ideas to try with preschoolers:

Toilet Paper Snowman

Toilet Paper Snowman Craft

Materials: 

  • Paper: a sheet of paper, precut white circles, black small circles, a precut orange nose, and a precut scarf
  • Precut hat or pompoms for ear muffs (pipe cleaner to connect pompoms or connect pompoms by drawing
  • Toilet paper
  • Buttons
  • Glue
  • Marker 
  • Optional: scissors to cut our circles, nose, hat, scarf, and cheerios

Instructions: 

  1. Rip 4 toilet paper squares into small pieces.
  2. Glue big circles onto the sheet of paper.
  3. Glue small pieces of toilet paper on white circles. 
  4. Glue eyes, nose, mouth, buttons, and scarf.
  5. Glue hat or ear muffs. 
  6. Draw arms. 

Bubble Wrap Snowman

Bubble Wrap Snowman Craft

Materials: 

  • Bubble wrap is cut into circles (i.e., large, medium, small).
  • White paint
  • Sheet of paper, scrap paper for hat and scarf (we used old wrapping paper)
  • Precut nose, arms, and buttons
  • Glue
  • Markers 

Instructions:

  1. Cut out bubble wrap into big, medium, and small circles.
  2. Dip bubble wrap circles into white paint and stamp them on paper to form a snowman.
  3. Let it dry and precut all necessary body parts, including a hat and scarf.
  4. Glue all parts on paper to create a snowman. 
  5. Draw parts if needed. 

“My Name” Snowman

Materials: 

  • Large sheet of paper
  • Precut white circles for each letter of the student’s name and an additional one for the head
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Scrap art media and colorful paper for a hat, ear muff, and scarf.
  • White paint and Q-tip 

Instructions: 

  1. Glue all white circles onto the paper.
  2. Draw face and arms.
  3. Draw/glue hat/ear muffs.
  4. Trace or copy the letters of the first name in each snowball. 
  5. Dip the Q-tip in white paint for a snowing effect. 

Winter Wonderland Finger Paint

Materials: 

Instructions: 

  1. Dip index or thumb in white paint.
  2. Stamp onto paper to create snowmen.
  3. Optional: Dip sponges in white paint to create winter scenery and dip a Q-tip or pencil top in white paint to make falling snow.
  4. When dry, decorate snowmen with markers. 

Playdough Snowman

Materials: 

Instructions: 

  1. Roll playdough into balls to create a snowman.
  2. Decorate the snowman as you wish.

Snow Storm Snowman Globe

Snow Storm Snowman Globe

Materials:

  • Few colors of paper
  • Marbles
  • White paint
  • Tray, cookie sheet, or box
  • Glue 
  • Scissors 
  • Art materials such as beads, buttons, ribbons, etc.
  • Markers

Instructions: 

  1. Place a few marbles in white paint.
  2. Place marbles on the paper sheet inside of the tray.
  3. Move the tray side to side and move the marbles to create a snowstorm (place marbles in additional white paint if needed). 
  4. Let it dry.
  5. Cut out circles for the snowman, a big “storm” circle for the globe when the sheet is dry, and a base for the globe.
  6. Glue and draw all parts to create a snowman globe.
  7. Write or copy your name.

Pine Cone Snowman Craft

Materials:

Instructions:

  1. Paint the pine cone white with a paintbrush.
  2. Glue and decorate to make a snowman. 

Puffy Paint Snowman

Materials:

  • Shaving cream and glue 
  • Paper
  • Paintbrush, pencil, markers 
  • Decorative art supplies: buttons, popsicle sticks, ribbons, pompoms, pipe cleaners, cheerios, precut nose/eyes, googly eyes, scrap paper/material (we used old sweaters for scarves and hats). 
  • Glue
  • White paint and Q-tip

Instructions:

  1. Mix shaving cream and glue to create puffy paint.
  2. Pre-draw snowman.
  3. Paint snowman.
  4. Glue body parts.
  5. Dip Q-tip in white paint and paint falling snow. 

Circles All Around Snowmen

Materials:

  • Toilet paper roll
  • White paint 
  • Cotton rounds 
  • Paper
  • Decorative art supplies: buttons, ribbons, pompoms, pipe cleaners, cheerios, precut nose/eyes, googly eyes, scrap paper/material (we used some Christmas wrapping paper). 
  • Glue
  • Scissors 

Instructions:

  • Dip the toilet paper roll in white paint and stamp it all over the paper. 
  • Let it dry.
  • Glue cotton rounds to create snowmen. 
  • Decorate snowmen. 

Melted Snowman

Materials: 

  • Paper
  • Precut snowman body parts. 
  • Glue.

Instructions: 

  1. Glue all body parts on paper. 

Chalk Snowman

Materials:

  • Dark paper
  • Different colors of chalk, including white. 

Instructions: 

  1. Draw a snowman with chalk, and provide an example to copy as needed. 

Cute snowman crafts add winter spirit around colder months and help us learn about the winter theme. Additionally, snowman crafts help develop fine motor skills, creativity, spatial awareness, and teach children about body parts. Always supervise children with small materials, scissors, and glue.
